Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacteria that colonizes the stomach lining. It is found in the majority of cases – over 90% of duodenal ulcer patients and 70% of gastric ulcer patients infected.
The prevalence of H. pylori infection varies from 20 to 50% in industrialized countries to over 80% in developing countries. The infection may persist lifelong without specific treatment. H. pylori leads to chronic gastritis (very painful).
A certain portion of infected patients then develop more severe pathologies such as peptic ulcer (10–15%), gastric cancer (1%), and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (50%).
Other Overlooked Symptoms:
- 50% of people may not have any symptoms. Symptoms can include belching, bloating, gas, reflux, difficulty with undigested foods seen in your stool.
- This bug can inhibit your digestion juices such as pancreatic elastase as well as stomach acid.
- Absorption of minerals becomes affected eventually: iron, zinc.
- Absorption of vitamins become affected: Vitamin C, B12 (due to the need for stomach acid to absorb B12).
- Insulin release from the pancreas: It may also suppress insulin release from the pancreas, which would be evidenced by low C-Peptide on your blood test. You may notice feeling tired after meals.
- Skin issues from acne to rosacea. Skin issues have a strong connection to gut infections.

Iron Anemia of Unknown Origin:
- It is documented in the medical literature that idiopathic anemia can be caused by an underlying H. Pylori infection.
- Bring this up to your hematologist.
I am presenting some clinically proven alternative treatments that have been shown to eradicate H. pylori and help increase its sensitivity to antibiotics.
This nasty bug is pretty much anti-biotic resistant these days due to the nuclear bomb of triple and quadruple antibiotic therapy that is thrown at it. I am presenting some clinically proven alternative treatments that have been shown to eradicate H. pylori and help increase its sensitivity to antibiotics.
As per the clinicians at Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory, “H. Pylori seems to be getting more difficult to kill due to antibiotic resistance. And especially so if the patient does not have a strong immune system to be able to remove the bacteria. Adrenal support can help the patient’s immune system be more efficacious at killing H. Pylori before the doctor begins the killing phase.”
- High-stress hormone production can suppress the immune system over time. This would be evidenced by a low secretory IgA (SIgA) on a stool test. Stressors can include: low blood sugar, perceived emotional/mental stress, caffeine, eating allergic foods, allergies, not sleeping enough or having a reversed sleep cycle, and having chronic gut infections and mouth infections.
- This may be why the clinicians recommend supporting the adrenal glands for a few months prior to moving forward.
Alternative Methods of Removing H. Pylori:
1. Mastic Gum
Mastic gum is a natural resin that is excreted from the trunk and branches of the mastic bush. There is mixed literature in both in vivo / in vitro studies regarding its effectiveness with eradicating H. Pylori.
For the most part, the literature is supportive, and it is a primary recommendation in combination with other items that can remove HP.
2. Broccoli Seed Extract
3. Oil of Oregano
Oil of oregano is a great antimicrobial for parasites and overgrowth of bacteria. As for H. Pylori, oregano can inhibit the enzyme that it secretes to neutralize stomach acid “urease.”
4. N-Acetyl Cysteine
5. Saccharomyces Boulardii
Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic yeast strain that helps to push out candida, blastocystis hominis, and H.pylori.
Particularly for HP, it has been found to decrease the HP colonization in the GI tract – but it’s not recommended as a sole treatment. It needs to be within combination with the other things listed here.
6. Cranberry Juice and Probiotics
295 children with H pylori were given 200 mL of cranberry juice and the probiotic strain lactobacillus for 21 days. This combination inhibited the bacteria by 23%.
7. Berries
All berries significantly inhibited H pylori and also increase sensitivity to antibiotics (clarithromycin). A 1% concentration of berries gave a >90% eradication rate. It is quite possible to get therapeutic doses of berries because the volume of the stomach is 1.0 – 1.5 mL.
The strongest therapeutic berries (in order):
- Elderberries
- Bilberries
- Blueberries
- Cranberries
- Dark grapes with seeds.
The weaker berries:
- Strawberries
- Raspberries
8. Melatonin
10 mg of melatonin /night significantly accelerated the healing of H pylori-related gastric and duodenal ulcers. There was complete healing in 21 days!
9. L-tryptophan
250mg 2x/day significantly accelerated the healing of H pylori-related gastric and duodenal ulcers. There was a complete healing in 21 days!!!
10. Green Tea
As if we need another reason to drink this amazing tea! Daily consumed concentrations of green tea prevents H pylori from being able to attach itself to the mucosal cells of the stomach walls.
In H pylori infected gerbils, green tea added to drinking water cleared infection and decreased gastritis (inflammation of the stomach). A significant inverse relationship between green tea consumption and H pylori infection was discovered. Drink up!
